Thank you for visiting
Moseley's on the Charles on the Web!

Moseley's on the Charles has been a Greater Boston landmark
for over 100 years, and is believed to be the oldest
continuous-running ballroom in the country. Today, Moseley's thrives as one of Greater Boston's largest function sites for weddings, banquets, ballroom dancing and entertainment.

The business was founded in 1905 by Elisha Moseley,
who erected the facility as a summer canoe house and ballroom
on the banks of the Charles River in Dedham. Through the years, Moseley's has hosted a legendary roster of top entertainers,
including musicians Guy Lombardo, Harry James, Les Brown,
Buddy Rich and Lester Lannon; rock 'n' rollers such as
The Platters, the Marvelettes, The Grass Roots and
The Manhattans; as well as comedians Pat Cooper,
Lenny Clark and Steve Sweeney.

In 1998, Moseley's was purchased by Dedham resident
Edward DeVincenzo, an employee who began his career at
Moseley's as a teenager working in the coatroom. Committed to carrying on the proud traditions of this illustrious ballroom, he has embarked on a series of renovations to bring the facility up to date and into the new millennium. We're sure Elisha Moseley would be pleased to know the business that still bears his name is
going strong nearly a century later.
